Students Celebrate Halloween on the Hill
Friday, Oct. 31 the halls of Golden Hill Elementary seemed a bit odd. Dinosaurs were using chromebooks, witches were drawing in art class and all of the grown-ups wore colorful wigs and funny hats! One thing was abundantly clear: Golden Hill takes Halloween very seriously.
The school’s annual Costume Parade is a favorite tradition for parents and students alike, as everyone gathers in the gymnasium to cheer on students as they show off their costumes.
“I was a ladybug when I was a preschooler. That was my first year in the parade,” said fifth grader Aleyna Sahmanovic. “I looked so cute.”
The students marched through the halls with big smiles on their faces, confident in their Halloween looks and excited to see what their classmates were wearing.
“I look forward to this every year,” said Madison McAteer. “Everyone gets together and is proud of themselves. It’s a very happy thing.”
Principal Starla Cirelli shared, “Today’s parade was such a wonderful celebration of our school and community spirit! It was heartwarming to see families, students and staff come together to cheer on every child. The excitement and encouragement from our parents truly highlighted how close-knit and supportive the FUFSD community is. It’s what makes Golden Hill such a special place to learn and grow.”
