I hope the summer months have brought you renewed energy. It is with great excitement that I welcome you to the 2024-2025 school year!

Over the summer months, our team has worked diligently to finalize grants, create student schedules and calendars, participate in professional development, evaluate equipment and more. I am grateful to our custodial staff for their efforts in every corner of our buildings, ensuring each room is prepared for our students’ return.

At S.S. Seward, you will see a refreshed look at the main entrance and athletic doors, offering an even more welcoming and school spirited approach to the building. Similarly, the weight room has been remodeled, featuring encouraging statements, mirrors to help students maintain form and other improvements. Our guidance suite is also updated with new flooring and paint.

At Golden Hill, new flexible seating and tables in the library as well as new furniture in the third pre-K classroom will benefit students. Improvements in drainage and the addition of fresh mulch at the K-5 playground this summer will allow the playground to be used more often. We look forward to installing new equipment at the pre-K playground in the coming school year.

It was amazing to see students continuing to develop skills in our buildings and give back to the community during the summer. The summer band at S.S. Seward put on a wonderful performance on August 1 for staff and families, and some elementary students participated in volleyball clinics hosted by varsity players for a National Honor Society project.

We have transitioned to ParentSquare, an effective and user-friendly school to home communications platform. If you haven’t already, please register through the email invitation sent to you to ensure that you receive important notifications and messages at the district, school and classroom level.

Please join me in giving a warm welcome to six new faculty and staff members starting this year, including a pre-K teacher, guidance counselor, foreign language teacher, nurse and two aides. I know that each individual has much knowledge and passion to contribute, adding to the vibrance of our Spartan Nation.

I look forward to seeing you at a variety of academic, athletic, creative and community events this school year. Your support and involvement in the Spartan community is vital and appreciated.

Here’s to another year of engaging minds, empowering futures and excelling together.

Sincerely,
Lisamarie Spindler, Ed.D.
Superintendent of Schools
