Princesses, angels, superheroes and villains filled the halls at Golden Hill Oct. 31, ready to parade through the gym to the cheers of friends and family and spooky tunes playing over the loudspeaker.
Fourth graders Carsen Langlitz and Ava Luciano dressed up as “Preppy Lorax” and “Preppy Angel.” “I enjoyed seeing all of the parents and dressing up with friends,” Langlitz shared. Participating since they started at Golden Hill, the girls shared that they look forward to this event each year.
Elizabeth VanEeuwen dressed as “Granny,” complete with a grey wig. The third grader chose the costume to bring laughter wherever she went.
Kindergartener Thaddeus Slyfield’s smile could be seen across the gym as he showcased his bat costume. “My whole family is going as bats this year! I liked waving to everyone in the crowd,” he said.
“The event brings life into the building and gathers the community together,” shared Principal Starla Ciarelli.
The costume parade capped off a month of fun activities, with students participating in the PTA trunk or treat, PTA pumpkin patch , and fourth and fifth grade costume bash.
“I enjoyed seeing all of the spooky cars and getting lots of candy,” VanEeuwen said about the trunk or treat.
Speaking about the bash, Luciano shared, “My favorite part was the haunted maze.”
