In honor of Fire Prevention Week, the Florida Fire Department visited Golden Hill Elementary students on Thursday (Oct. 12) to teach about fire preparedness. Students got to tour the fire trucks and even test out some of the equipment! Fire Prevention Week emphasizes how families must prepare fire escape plans, test smoke and carbon monoxide alarms every month and replace them every 10 years, implement appropriate building codes, and when possible, install residential fire sprinklers.
Tom Andryshak, Chief of the Florida Dept. spoke at an assembly to students in grades 4 and 5 about how to keep themselves and their families safe.
